This article from Wired is wild - there’s a far more efficient (and green) nuclear fuel and reactor technology in development here in the USA, but India and China may very well get the leg up on actual implementation.
Yeah, I said “top 20.” Partially, this is because there are a lot of records I’ve enjoyed this year - also, my editor at Spectrum Culture asked for 20, so it’d be a waste of my time and effort if I didn’t include the entire list. Without further ado, my favorites:
The Decemberists - The Hazards of Love The Flaming Lips - Embryonic Josh Mease - Wilderness Clare & The Reasons - Arrow Japandroids - Post-Nothing St. Vincent - Actor Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It’s Blitz White Rabbits - It’s Frightening Joe Henry - Blood from Stars A.A. Bondy - When the Devil’s Loose Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix The Thermals - Now We Can See M. Ward - Hold Time Neko Case - Middle Cyclone Doves - Kingdom of Rust The Dead Weather - Horehound Gomez - A New Tide Matt & Kim - Grand Various Artists - Dark was the Night
If you haven’t heard any of these records, I recommend them. Obviously.
